If you follow my twitter, in early April I announced I was trying to grow lemongrass. Well lookie, it's sprouted!
I followed the instructions on Chow.ca: I bought a stalk of lemongrass at the supermarket, chopped off the bottom 4 inches, and stuck it in water and put it in the window. That's it. I changed the water every few days.
After about two weeks I peeled back the waterlogged outermost layer as I thought it might be rotting; underneath were two teeny tiny roots. A month later, this is what it looks like.
Now I have to research what to do next!
Update: You Grow Girl has instructions for planting in soil. Note for my cat-owning friends: apparently some kitties will try to eat lemongrass, so place it out of reach.
